Until recently Chris Hillier was Chief Engineer
and Health and Safety Manager at Hillside Studios in Bushey. He had
been with the studios at Bushey for nearly 30 years and had been
closely involved in it’s development from small training
studio to a full Broadcast Facilities Company, contributing many hours
of Broadcast Television and Radio to the networks.
Chris had been responsible for all engineering
management and the studio and post- production complex His duties also
included responsibility for the building management and also for all
Health and Safety at the premises.
Chris was one of the founder members of ChEFF, the
Chief Engineers of Facilities Forum, the technical trade association
for UK Facility houses. He represents them on the Production Management
Committee of the European Broadcasting Union.

A television systems engineer with over 35 years in the Broadcast
Television industry at both operational and senior management level.
His wide range of experience covers both production and post-production
areas of vision and sound engineering both from the management of
technical equipment and of the operational and engineering staff. For
the last 15 years He has been completely responsible for the Building
resources and the Health and Safety management of a large facilities
company. A proven communicator his work involves close liaison between
the worlds of programme production and television engineering. He has
been closely involved in staff training both in operational and in
Health and Safety areas
